1. Upload your main document
- If you want to import a Word Document, select it. Please make sure it is a .docx file (not an older .doc file)
- If you want to import a LaTeX Document, package your entire document in a zip file. Include in it, one master .tex (LaTeX) file, a bib (bibtex) file for bibliography and all the figures. If you include .cls or .sty files, the importer will attempt as much as possible to respect these rules, but bear in mind that Authorea converts all LaTeX to a HTML representation, so a lot of style and class commands (meant for printed documents) will be ignored.
2. If you start with a blank new document, you will be able to type the text directly into the page. Please ensure that:
- Your document has a title
- All authors and affiliations are listed. Author names are correct, in the correct order and are not duplicated.
- Content, images, and tables are complete and well formatted
- Files for any supplements needed to support the paper are included. All files, including supplemental files, have a combined size limit of 1 gb. Supplements should only be used for files that cannot otherwise be deposited in repositories.
In any case, but especially if you have uploaded a document, please verify all of your metadata (titles, authors, keywords, funding, abstract) to make sure they are correct before publishing your document. Pay special attention if you imported your document as a Word file. In this case, Advance attempts to extract this information from your document, but because of differences in input from different users, you must ensure it is accurate.
Hints:
- Make sure your affiliation is associated with your user name and make sure your name is not duplicated on the Author list.
- Check to make sure your funder information has not been duplicated. If you have entered your funder information, do not reenter it in the next step
- Finally, be very very sure that you want to publish this preprint before you take the next step. If your preprint is approved, the metadata from your article will be sent to CrossRef and a persistent DOI will be created. After this, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE to withdraw your preprint. Please be sure that all of the authors have agreed to your posting your document.
Once you are ready to submit, click "Publish" button and below pop-up will appear.
