Developing and Growing Leaders in Ministry
Abstract
The overall focus of this research is examining servant leadership from
a bottom-up perspective for developing and growing leaders in ministry
to serve others first with love. The purpose of the research design was
to investigate and carry out a plan that includes a hypothesis, several
research questions, gather information from creditable resources,
identify method(s) of measurement, collect and analyze the results, and
finally, make recommendations. The overall strategy proposed to
strengthen servant leadership from a bottom-up perspective to grow
leadership in ministry and build capacity that can help close the gap
between ministry and communities for transforming lives as servant
leaders. The methodology for this research included a problem-solving
one of a mixed-methods approach to collect data. Using this method
allowed the researcher to employ both qualitative and quantitative
research methods. Quantitative and qualitative data were gathered
through focus groups, email, data reports, and recordkeeping. Interviews
were conducted via written responses. A total of 24 participants were in
this study from different locales (zip codes, both urban and rural) and
faiths.
