Abstract

This study employs empirical methods and the V-dem index and Risse, Sikkink scheme to fully understand the cases at various points in time. The study discovered that under no circumstances, from the V-dem index to the Risse scheme, was human rights upheld in Libya despite the legislations that were put in place by Gaddafi to check it. The legislations were instead a mere ploy to control dissents. The study concludes that human rights has become a significant ideology that projects propaganda.
