Abstract

The defense mechanisms preference of the participants those were bound to attend their workplace on time was studied in two situations. Startle was generated by a stranger professional who asked participants about ‘reaching the office late’ whereas surprise was created by asking participants about ‘always attending the office in time’.It was assumed that divergent respondents to cope would prefer heterogeneous defense mechanisms; however, a limited number of defense mechanisms were engrossed, ‘collective coping’ for situation influences discussed. More studies would further clarify.
